Our beautiful celebration of the 100th anniversary of St. Jane de Chantal Church was magnificent. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard on all the preparations for the Mass and the celebration immediately thereafter. We are so thankful to Archbishop Aymond for being our principal celebrant, for our immediate past Pastor, Fr. Ken Allen, who kicked off this celebration over one year ago, Pastor Daniel Okafor, Fr. Luis Duarte, Fr. Charles Benoit and Fr. Robert Cavalier, our 1st diocesan Pastor. Thanks also to all the many brother Priests of Fr. Daniel who made a special effort to attend. Thanks to Ms. Christine Brignac for the beautiful flowers, Jolie Brignac for photography, Ms. Lindsey Ware for the wonderful music and the choir who helped lift our voices in song. Thank-you to the altar servers, the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, the altar servers and Masters of Ceremonies for assisting and all who contributed in any way to the beauty of the 100th anniversary.
The celebration held at Town Hall was also a huge success. Many thanks to the heroic volunteer efforts of our committee including Barb Borries & John Moran, who led the efforts. Committee members included Sherrie Bowen, Linda Bruno, Donna Carriles, Laura Cheramie, Dee Clavin, Hollie DeHarde, Barbara Griffin, Cary Haro, Janet Hebert, Vickie Jambon, Liz Jenkins, Darleen Johnson, Mary Ann Ledet, David Marquardt, Debbie McDougall, Blanche Myers, Lee Olivier, Lynette Soules, Michelle Theriot, Molly Ventola. Thanks to all the chefs from the Knights of Columbus, especially Dave Marquardt, David Myers and Carey Montz. Music was provided by Mike Teifer and the 100th anniversary cake donated by Maple Street Bakery. Thank-you to St. Tammany Parish President for joining us that day and presenting a proclamation to our Church from the Parish government. So many more to thank!
